My son, Sarthak Jindal diagnosed with bilateral hearing loss at the age of 3 years at severe sensorineural hearing loss at Meenakshi Speech & Hearing Clinics and Dr. Meenakshi advised for bilateral digital hearing aid and started Speech rehab. During therapy for 10 monnths, there was negligible progress in the language and Dr. Meenakshi advised to go for Cochlear Implants for both ears. Now My son hears better and I'm really happy.

I am Mani Ram Sharma from a remote and backword area of Rajasthan in Alwar District. Now my age is 35 of years old. I become totally deaf when I was nearly 7-8 of years old. Actually my mother is deaf. So it is a hereditary problem in my family. My son, now 11 years old is also deaf. Actually there are nearly 45 members in my blood relation which are totally deaf.
Vedansh is my little 5 year old son.
He was born profoundly deaf we assume. Newborn screening wasn't mandatory at that time. Having no history of deafness in neither my nor his father's family, I dismissed the thought and didn't have tested. When Vedansh was 1.5 yrs old, I was taking his picture, kept calling Vedansh's name but he wouldn't response to sound. I finally waved my hand in front of his face and that startled him.
When Shashwat, was born in Nov2008, little did my husband and I know what challenges the future held for us. When Shashwat was 6 months old, I had already begun to suspect that he couldn't hear. Our apartment was very small, and we kept him infant seat on our dining room table right near the front door. When this heavy door would slam, he wouldn't startle.
